Bingsoo Hotspot 5 (pt.1) 🍧:
Bakery Café Cael, Lidcombe
One of my top go-to Bingsoo hotspots! As identified in the name, Bakery Café Cael is a bakery and café in one 😉. They sell pastries, breads, cakes, drinks and desserts 🍞🥯🥖🥐🍩🍰🎂🥤🍧 (Sorry for spamming with the emojis, but they’re too cute!).
Location and Ambience
Bakery Café Cael is approximately a 2 minutes’ walk from Lidcombe station and is located on Joseph St. This is a popular food street in Lidcombe with several Korean restaurants, cafés, and small Korean grocery stores.
You will be able to distinguish the café from the wooden exterior and the business sign that has a cute little coffee cup. The café is rather small because of the placement of the bakery shelves. However, there are around a total of 5 to 6 tables and seating available both inside and outside the café. It is quite a tight fit for the customers inside the café, but it is not entirely uncomfortable. The café smells like your local coffee shop with the slight aroma of pastry 😅.
How to Order, Setup of the Café and Price
When you arrive at Bakery Café Cael, there will be a menu board above the counter, where you can choose to order drinks. There was a cake display stand beside the counter if you are up for both cakes and Bingsoo 🍰🍧. There was also a bakery section on the left side of the café where you can pick up bakery products that you want to purchase and pay at the counter.
We ordered the Matcha Bingsoo (my personal favourite and recommended flavour 😉) and paid at the counter. I believe the price of the Bingsoo was $17 at the time (you may need to double check). They also have other flavours available including strawberry and injeolmi (sweet soybean)!

Bingsoo Presentation
One of the reasons why I love this café is because of their generous serving size 😍. I mean, would you look at that big stainless-steel bowl and mountain of Bingsoo filled in it?! 👆😭
The bowl was loaded with milk Bingsoo and generously sprinkled with matcha powder. It was topped with a scoop of sweet red beans, mini mochi and drizzled with a small amount of condensed milk 😊. It was served with a mini side jug of milk and small bowl of condensed milk 🥛. This was a very considerate gesture from the staff to provide the two optional sides to cater to those with different preferences (some may prefer a sweeter Bingsoo or like it just the way it is). But yes, my friends and I preferred a sweeter Bingsoo so we poured both the milk and condensed milk in 😅.
Bingsoo Taste
I cannot recall how many times I have been to this café just for their Bingsoo 🥰.
The first time I arrived at the café and ordered the Matcha Bingsoo, I was surprised that they had used milk Bingsoo and just sprinkled it with matcha powder 😕. I had assumed that the matcha flavour would be very mild and that the Bingsoo would just taste like sweet milk Bingsoo. However, I was wrong! 🙅🏻♀️ Do not underestimate the power of a good quality matcha powder (I told myself 😅).
The Matcha Bingsoo tasted terrific to me 🤤 (Please do not have extremely high expectations, as we all have different preferences 😅). I absolutely loved the matcha flavour of the Bingsoo. It was not overpowering to the point where it made the Bingsoo bitter, but it was not subtle either. It tasted as if an iced matcha latte was made into an ice cream and dispensed through a Bingsoo machine. The mini mochi was sweet and added more texture to the Matcha Bingsoo 🍡. Whereas, the red beans added the smallest savoury flavour to the dessert. Overall, the Matcha Bingsoo and all the other ingredients meshed well together and tasted incredible 🥰.
Thus, if you are planning on visiting Bakery Café Cael, I would recommend that you try their Matcha Bingsoo first 😁.
Bingsoo Rating
This Bingsoo rating will be out of 5
stars based on my personal preferences and experience 😏. I will outline the common attributes
and quality that I look for in Bingsoo and rate it.
Bingsoo Flavour: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️.25/ 5
Bingsoo Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 /5
The mountain of Matcha Bingsoo in
a stainless-steel bowl looked captivating 🤩. The toppings of the sweet red beans and mini
mochi certainly stood out 😊.
Bingsoo Ingredients: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ /5
The Matcha Bingsoo was definitely worth $17 because of the plentiful amount of Bingsoo that the staff provided. The additional milk and condensed milk were a nice gesture from the staff and added more flavour and depth to the Bingsoo 🤤.
Bingsoo Melting Point: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ /5
If I recall correctly, the Matcha
Bingsoo did not melt too quickly 😌.
