Bingsoo Hotspot 5 (pt.2) 🍧:
Bakery Café Cael, Lidcombe
Bakery Café Cael was stated in my Bingsoo Hotspot 5 (pt.1) post. The previous post consisted of my recommendation for their Matcha Bingsoo. However, Bakery Café Cael also has a delectable Injeolmi (Sweet Soybean) Bingsoo, which will be further described in this post 🤤.
Bakery Café Cael is a small and homey café in Lidcombe. They also serve a variety of bakery goods, desserts, drinks and the Bingsoo itself 😊.

Bingsoo Presentation
If I recall correctly, it took around 10 to 15 minutes for the staff to prepare the Bingsoo 😕. It was understandable though because it was noon and quite busy. What made it all worth it was the size of the Injeolmi (Sweet Soybean) Bingsoo 😲. It was huge and definitely worth its price!
The milk Bingsoo was piled in a steel
bowl and sprinkled with sweet soybean powder in between each layer. It looked
feathery light and fine 😌. The Injeolmi (Sweet Soybean) Bingsoo was then
decorated with a generous serving of mochi 🍡. It was topped with a whole sweet red
bean, drizzled with condensed milk and dusted with more sweet soybean powder 😊. The staff also provided us with a small bowl of extra condensed milk which was being poured in the picture above 👆.
Bingsoo Taste
I absolutely loved the Injeolmi (Sweet Soybean) Bingsoo at Bakery Café Cael 😍. I totally expected the sweet soybean powder to be quite grainy, but it was the total opposite 😄.
Although the Injeolmi (Sweet Soybean) Bingsoo may look plain, it wasn’t. The milk Bingsoo mixture had a prominent sweetness to it (potentially from the condensed milk 😊) that removed most of the fresh milk flavour. The sprinkling of sweet soybean powder in between each layer of the Bingsoo definitely intensified the injeolmi flavour. What I really liked was that the texture of the sweet soybean powder was not grainy 😌. It was light and rather melted slightly in the Bingsoo 😝. The Injeolmi Bingsoo had such a nice, sweet flavour, but also the slight nuttiness that made it savoury. The perfect balance of flavours! 🥰
The whole sweet red beans tasted sweet but rich and was a great addition to the Injeolmi (Sweet Soybean) Bingsoo 😃. I was thankful for the plentiful amount of mini mochi provided 😆. The mochi also had a sweetness to it that was not overpowering and the chewiness that I love. Such a great pairing with Bingsoo! 🤩
Thus, if you are looking for a Bingsoo flavour that is unique and just as delicious, try Bakery Café Cael’s Injeolmi (Sweet Soybean) Bingsoo 😄.
Bingsoo Rating
This Bingsoo rating will be out of 5
stars based on my personal preferences and experience 😏. I will outline the common attributes
and quality that I look for in Bingsoo and rate it.
Bingsoo Flavour: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️/ 5
Bingsoo Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 /5
The Injeolmi Bingsoo was nicely
presented and the size was huge! 😄
Bingsoo Ingredients: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 /5
As mentioned earlier, the staff did
provide a large serving of the milk Bingsoo. They were also very generous with
the mochi pieces 😊. However, I feel like maybe a scoop of vanilla ice
cream would be nice with the Injeolmi Bingsoo 😕.
Bingsoo Melting Point: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ /5
The Bingsoo did not melt that fast, despite
the huge size 😌.
