Much-needed Mellow Melon 🍈
Are you looking for a refreshing fruit to eat during summer? A fruit that tastes both sweet and tart? Say hello to some mellow melon!🍈 😁
Bingsoo Hotspot 7 🍧:
Old Garden Kaffee, Pitt St (Sydney CBD)
Old Garden Kafee is an aesthetic café in Sydney CBD that probably serves the widest range of Bingsoo flavours 🥰.
Location and Ambience
Old Garden Kafee is located on Pitt St, parallel to World Square shopping centre. It is around 6 minutes’ walk from Town Hall station. The café is rather eye-catching with its unique orange hue lighting, wooden interior, and vintage decorations.
The café is of an adequate size with many tables and seating available for small groups of people. There was a menu board outside the store that listed all the Bingsoo flavour that they have (A LOT 😵).
How to Order, Setup of the Café and Price
The café has such an intriguing ambience 👀. It captivates you upon entrance and makes you feel somewhat cozy because of the lighting 😊. It is usually really packed around lunch time and sometimes loud because of the huge groups and close proximity in the café 😂.
Upon entering the café, a staff member will guide you to any available seating and provide you with a menu. When you have decided what Bingsoo flavour you want to try (among all the other flavours 😆), you will need to order and pay at the counter. I believe you will receive a table number stand and wait for your order at your table. As a group of friends hanging out, we unanimously decided to opt for the Rockmelon Bingsoo because it was such a unique flavour that we had not tried 🤔. I believe the price of the Bingsoo was $17.90 (Please double check the price before visiting 😅).
Like I mentioned earlier, Old Garden Kafee has many Bingsoo flavours available on their menu including banoffee, coconut, choc mousse, honeydew, mango cheese, matcha, strawberry cheese, Thai milk tea, rockmelon, watermelon and many more 🤤.

Rockmelon Bingsoo 😝Final shot! 😁
Bingsoo Presentation
Hands down, the prettiest Bingsoo presentation so far 🤫. The milk Bingsoo was placed inside the rockmelon skin (rockmelon bowl? 😅) itself! So creative~ 😄 It is then put into a pretty ceramic bowl.
The delicate milk Bingsoo was placed inside the rockmelon bowl. It was surrounded by perfect round scoops of rockmelon that the skilled staff placed on the milk Bingsoo (None of the rockmelon balls dropped! 😲). It was then topped with fairy floss (cute 🥰), a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some condensed milk. The staff also provided extra condensed milk in a shot glass 😄.
Bingsoo Taste
Although the Bingsoo may look a little plain because it was just covered by scoops of rockmelon and topped with ice-cream, fairy floss and condensed milk; it honestly tasted delightful 😊.
The milk Bingsoo was sweet and cooling when eaten with the vanilla ice- cream and fairy floss 🌬. Whereas, the scoops of rockmelon was sweet and juicy 😊. The combination of the milk Bingsoo and the rockmelon created a refreshing sensation on the palate 👅 . There was the creamy texture from the milk Bingsoo and ice-cream, the sweetness of the fairy floss and the hint of tartness from the rockmelon 😄. The rockmelon contributed in adding a fresh and juicy component to the Bingsoo 🍈. It certainly complemented well with the creamy texture and flavour of the milk Bingsoo 😁.
Try the Rockmelon Bingsoo at Old Garden Kafee, if you want something refreshing that is not overly creamy or sweet. It will captivate your taste buds 😝.
Bingsoo Rating
This Bingsoo rating will be out of 5
stars based on my personal preferences and experience 😏. I will outline the common attributes
and quality that I look for in Bingsoo and rate it.
Bingsoo Flavour: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ .75/ 5
Bingsoo Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 /5
The Rockmleon Bingsoo looked fantastic. The staff surely knew how to impress
with their Bingsoo plating and decorating skills 😉. I also applaud them for
making the rockmelon scoops stay put 😂 👏.
Bingsoo Ingredients: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 /5
The Rockmelon Bingsoo was on the
smaller side, so there was less milk Bingsoo in the rockmelon bowl. Maybe
because the rockmelon bowl took up most of the surface area 😂. Otherwise, maybe the staff had a
standard amount of Bingsoo that they could serve to ensure the rockmelon scoops
did not drop 🤔.
Bingsoo Melting Point: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5
The Rockmelon Bingsoo did not melt quite fast. However, it was
summer when we visited the café 😅
