Bingsoo Hotspot 10 🍧:
Mr Bingsoo, Little Saigon Plaza (Bankstown)

Mr Bingsoo is a small café at Little Saigon Plaza in Bankstown. They serve a variety of shaved Bingsoo flavours, taiyaki waffles, ice creams, cakes, and drinks 🤩.

Location and Ambience

Mr Bingsoo is located on Ground Level inside the Little Saigon Plaza at Bankstown. It is situated just near the corner of Hotpot City. You can easily identify the café from its big logo the TV screens and café umbrellas.

Mr Bingsoo is a rather small café with a few outdoor seating available. It is usually not as packed at night time (at least when I visited 😅). The café is vibrant and has a lot of dessert alternatives along with the shaved Bingsoo 😌

How to Order, Setup of the Café and Price

Since the café is an open space, you will have to order your dessert at the register, pay and a buzzer will be provided. The buzzer will vibrate when your dessert is ready and you can collect it at the counter (This was how the ordering process was like when I visited, but it may have been subjected to change😅).

We had ordered the Green Tea (Matcha) Shaved Ice and Strawberry Shaved Bingsoo in a regular size, which I believe were respectively $14.90 and $15.90 at the time (Please double-check the prices upon visiting 😅).

Mr Bingsoo also provides a variety of  Shaved Bingsoo flavours including green tea (matcha), strawberry, mango, grapefruit, taro, injeolmi (soybean), rockemelon, sweet dew melon (honeydew) and mojito 😋.

Bingsoo Presentation

The two Shaved Bingsoo at Mr Bingsoo were nicely presented. The Matcha Shaved Bingsoo was finely shaved into a white porcelain bowl that had floral edges. It was topped with red bean paste and delightful mochi with red bean filling 🍡. Finally, matcha powder was sprinkled on top offering a bright green hue to the dark Matcha Shaved Bingsoo 🍵

On the other hand, the Strawberry Shaved Bingsoo was shaved into another white porcelain bowl with the same floral edged design. The shaved ice was topped with plenty of blueberries and strawberries that were soaked in syrup. The final touches included a dusting of icing sugar and a drizzle of strawberry syrup 🍓

All in all, it was a very simple presentation but the height and layers of both the Matcha Shaved Bingsoo and Strawberry Shaved Bingsoo definitely stood out 😀

Bingsoo Taste

Matcha 🍵

The Matcha Shaved Bingsoo surprised me because it had a prominent matcha flavour that was also exemplified in the dark green flavour 😝. It had a hint of bitterness, but it was not too intense. Overall, the matcha flavour was not too overwhelming but it still stood out 😄. The mochi was very nice, sweet and chewy 🍡. I loved the texture it brought to the Matcha Shaved Bingsoo. Contrastingly, the red bean paste was not my favourite. It was too dry and did not have much flavour 😕. On a positive note, I believe Mr Bingsoo recently changed their red bean paste to whole sweet red beans! 🤩 So, the Matcha Shaved Bingsoo may taste even better now! 😄

Strawberry 🍓

The Strawberry Shaved Bingsoo, while nice with its vibrant and refreshing colour, it did not taste too great 😞. I remembered taking the first bite and the  Strawberry Shaved Bingsoo was way too sour for my liking 😩. I could appreciate a hint of sourness in a Bingsoo because it can create that tang and refreshing component; however, this Bingsoo was overwhelmingly sour for me. It may also be because I have a sweet tooth, but I personally did not like the Strawberry Shaved Bingsoo 😅. Thankfully, the blueberries and strawberry syrup added a subtle hint of sweetness and juiciness to the Bingsoo 😌

Thus, if you are looking to visit a café that has a variety of Bingsoo and dessert options, I would suggest going to Mr Bingsoo 😀. I would personally recommend the Matcha Shaved Bingsoo. Although, maybe next time if I were to visit, I will probably order the Chocolate Shaved Bingsoo because it looks very appealing 😍.
